The North Ms. Baptist State Congress is the Educational Arm of the North MS Baptist Education Convention under the Leadership of President Sherman Helton Sr.

Morning Courses 9:30am-12:00pm

Survey of John*

Instructor: Minister Helen Walls

This course provides an in-depth survey of the Gospel of John, emphasizing Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Savior of the world.  Students will explore key themes such as belief, eternal life, love, and witness, with special attention given to how John's Gospel equips believers to boldly share their faith.  Practical applications will help students use Scripture to evangelize effectively in everyday conversations.

Afternoon Courses 1:00pm-3:00pm

AI (Artificial Intelligence) in Ministry

Instructor: Dean Annie Tigue

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and its growing impact on ministry.    Participants will learn AI can be used ethically and effectively for evangelism, discipleship, administration, and outreach.  The course also explores how technology can help churches reach new audiences-especially younger generations-while maintaining biblical integrity.

Evening Courses (6:30pm - 8:30pm)

The African American Church and Social Justice*

Instructor: Pastor Jason Pearson

This course examines the historical and contemporary role of the African American Church in addressing social justice issues.  Students will explore how faith, theology, and activism intersect and how the church can evangelize while advocating for justice, equity, and community transformation through a Christ-centered lens.

Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts

Instructor: Dean Mattie Woodson

This course helps students identify, understand, and activate their God-given spiritual gifts.  Emphasis is placed on using these gifts for evangelism, service, and the edification of the church, empowering believers to fulfill their role in the Great Commission.

Creative Ways of Teaching

Instructor: Dean Loretta Miller

This course equips teachers and ministry leaders with innovative methods for teaching biblical content.  Emphasis is placed on engaging learners of all ages and using creativity to strengthen evangelism, understanding, and spiritual transformation-especially among children and youth.

Leading Under 40

Instructor: Rev. Alex Glen

Designed for emerging leaders, this course focuses on developing leadership skills for ministry and life before the age of 40.  Students will learn how to lead with vision, integrity, and purpose while engaging their peers in evangelism and service without compromising biblical values.

Women of the New Testament: Balancing Family, Career, and Self

Instructor: Sis. Vicki Cox

This course explores the lives and faith journeys of women in the New Testament.  Students will gain biblical insight and practical encouragement for balancing family responsibilities, career goals, personal growth, and ministry while remaining effective witnesses for Christ.

Entrepreneurship & Career Development

Instructor: TBD

This course provides practical guidance on entrepreneurship, career planning, and professional development from a biblical perspective.  Students will learn how faith, purpose, and work intersect and how careers can be leveraged as platforms for evangelism and kingdom impact.

Maintaining Christian Morals in an Immoral World (Men Only)

Instructor: Pastor Floyd Lee, III

This course challenges men to uphold biblical morals and live disciplined Christian lives in today's morally complex society.  Through Scripture and open discussion, students will learn how personal holiness strengthens their Christian witness and equips them to evangelize authentically in every area of life.

Liturgical Dance Class (Ages 5 & Up)

Instructor: Sis. Diamyne Mosley

This course introduces students to liturgical dance as a form of worship and evangelism.  Participants will learn how movement can communicate biblical truth, express praise, and draw others to Christ.  Instruction is age-appropriate and encourages creativity, discipline, and spiritual growth.

Youth & Children Classes

Teens

(Ages 13-18)

This course equips teens to boldly share their faith at school, online, and among their peers.  Students will learn how to clearly communicate the Gospel, live out Christian values, and use their influences to lead others to Christ.

Children

(Ages 9-12)

This interactive course teaches children how to share their faith in fun and age-appropriate ways.  Through Bible stories, activities, and discussion, students will learn how to tell others about Jesus and understand their role in God's mission.

Children

(Ages 5-8)

This course introduces young children to Jesus and the love of God through stories, music, and hands-on activities.  Children will learn simple ways to show and share God's love with family and friends.
